Position Summary: The Stroke Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the stroke services. This position is responsible for overseeing the quality standards of care, professional documentation, oversight and development of policies and procedures, and program certification.Minimum Qualifications:Required
Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing
Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
American Heart Association BLS
American Heart Association ACLS
National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certificate required within 6 months of hire
Three years clinical experience in a critical care setting
Three years’ experience in stroke care
Preferred
Master's Degree
Other stroke related certifications (ANVP, NVRN, CNRN, CCRN, CCNS, CNRN, CEN)
Experience leading a stroke program through a review
Experience writing policies, procedures, and guidelines
Two years of experience in health care program management

Oversees Stroke Clinical Practice
Assists in the development, implementation and assessment of performance improvement programs related to stroke care.
Supervision of the Stroke Registry
Provides Stroke Education
Provides Leadership to overall Stroke Program
Consultation and Liaison by serve as an internal resource for staff in all departments, and act as an extended liaison for EMS agencies

Physical Requirements
Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)
Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.
Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.
Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed

Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses
