Job Title: Estate Beekeeper & Gardener
Location: Flowood, Mississippi
Job Description:
A private estate in Flowood, Mississippi is currently seeking a full-time Beekeeper & Gardener. The Beekeeper is responsible for maintaining and caring for the estates apiary as well as day-to-day help in maintaining the gardens and grounds and reports directly to the Head Gardener.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Maintaining the estates apiary by managing colonies, preventing pests and diseases, and providing for the bees’ needs.
-Perform landscaping garden tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, mulching and planting.
-Assist in the care and maintenance of all garden and turfed areas.
-Building maintenance; changing light bulbs and air filters, moving furniture, cleaning exteriors, pressure washing, etc.
-Help with irrigation repairs as needed.
Job Requirements:
-Ability to work outside year-round in varying weather conditions.
-Work from 7am-3pm Monday through Friday, and be able to work occasional overtime.
-Working knowledge of beekeeping and landscape maintenance is a plus.
-Ability to follow instructions and to take initiative; Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Show up with an enthusiastic attitude ready to accomplish the day's work.
-Experience operating and maintaining power equipment such as garden vehicles, tractors, lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers is a plus.
-Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
-Must possess a valid driver’s license, be dependable, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
-Candidates must have a clear criminal background check.
