Supplemental InformationThis vacancy is located within the Housekeeping Department at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, LA (East Feliciana Parish). ELMHS is the largest 24-hour, multi-site, state psychiatric complex comprised of residential, outpatient and inpatient services. Full-time and part-time (WAE) positions available. WAE positions are not to exceed 1245 hours in a 12-month period. Full-Time Premium Pay (Longevity):0-6 months - $1.00/hour6 months – 3 years - $1.25/hour3 years – 5 years - $1.50/hour5 years – 10 years - $1.75/hour10 years – 15 years - $2.00/hour15+ years - $2.25/hourAs part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Custodian 1 or Custodian 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.SUPERVISON EXERCISED:None.LOCATION OF WORK:All state agencies.JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from the Custodian 2 by the absence of experienced-level custodial tasks.Examples of WorkEXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.Empties and decontaminates trash containers; may assist in disposing of infectious waste.Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
