Quality Inspector - 1st shift

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team. The Quality Inspector is responsible for the testing and inspection of products at various stages of production process in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Supporting pole, kitting, final inspection (pole), and galvanize/paint outsource. As a Quality Inspector, you will:

Perform inspection activities with limited direct supervision following standard methods and procedures

Visually inspect product using a variety of precision measuring instruments

Check dimensions and finishes against blueprint or work order specifications

Mark test parts with appropriate language per job specifications

Initiate accept/reject decisions and know when to call more qualified individuals for marginal evaluations

Contain defective material at source

Keep accurate inspection records

Perform finishing operations to correct rejected parts

Inspect and calibrate test equipment; document dates and results

Write formal inspection reports in such a way they are presentable for customer viewing

Lead problem solving activities to determine root cause

Ability to support cross-functionally

Intermediate knowledge of industry specifications, including the ability to interpret specifications, procedures, and code requirements (AWS, ASTM-123, DOT, etc.)

Read blue prints

Role Qualifications as a Quality Inspector:

Preferred candidates will have background knowledge in inspection, be able to read a tape measure and blueprints, and use basic hand tools as well as a caliper and micrometer. Other combinations of formal training and experience may be considered.

Knowledge of industry specifications (AWS, ASTM-123, DOT, etc)

Knowledge of problem solving activities and ability to apply those engineering/lean concepts

Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and shop floor control, applications

Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork

Effective and appropriate oral communication skills including legible handwriting in English

Shift options:

1st shift is Monday - Thursday 5am – 3pm

10-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks (1st and 2nd shifts)

Voluntary Overtime is available
