This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes are also expected tasks. This is a job where someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets can thrive.Key responsibilities
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Deep understanding of journal entries
Account reconciliation experience
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Month end closings experience highly desired
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
