Description Robert Half is working with a client and hiring for a contract bookkeeper. As a Contract Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Working closely with our accounting team, you'll be responsible for completing tasks in a timely manner and meeting deadlines, all while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.Responsibilities:
Accomplish day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable and receivable
Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Generate and review invoices and ensure timely payments
Complete bank reconciliation, expense reports and payroll in a timely manner
Maintain an orderly filing system for all financial transactions
Comply with both federal and state financial legal requirements
Prepare accurate quarterly and year-end financial reports
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
Highly proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel
Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Education and Experience:
BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent practical experience
At least 2 years of proven bookkeeping experience
Certification in QuickBooks is highly desired
