These planning services include targeted program pathway advising on admissions, assessment, registration, transfer options, program options, financial aid, and academic support. The Pathway Advisor, under the Four Directions and We Thrive Women’s Foundation grant, will specifically focus on providing personalized advising to students enrolled in these programs. Responsibilities include offering proactive, intrusive advising to ensure student success, and coordinating college-wide retention initiatives such as Early Alert, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and case management for both new and returning students within the targeted cohort. To support students in achieving their educational and career objectives, the Pathway Advisor will facilitate timely referrals to additional support services, including Financial Aid, Counseling Services, Career Services, Access & Disability Resources, and Tutoring Services. The advisor will also participate actively in pre-enrollment processes, cultural and belonging programming, orientation, registration, and completion activities at Saint Paul College.Job Duties:

Provide comprehensive academic and transfer advising to new, current, and returning students, identified as part of the grant cohort, to promote increased student retention, persistence, and completion rates.

Use proactive case-management strategies to track student progress to completion and provide timely, appropriate and data-driven interventions.

Coordinate and implement grant activities related to advising, orientation, and registration by embedding effective advising and culturally responsive practices to ensure staff, partners, and students have access to consistent, accurate information supporting college completion.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree in education or related field with at least two years of experience in related field.

Ability to manage programs and/or projects.

Excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to direct, advise students and produce written documents.

Planning, organizing, coordinating and decision making, sufficient to perform student advising services.

Experience using database management systems and creating and maintaining tracking systems.

Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations, including nontraditional underrepresented students.

Experience working on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in higher education or related field.

Experience working in an urban two-year community and technical college.

Working knowledge of college policies, procedures, major programs and curriculum sufficient to advise and direct students.
