Job Description
Title: Sr Financial Analyst Location: St. Paul, MN 55101(onsite once per week) Duration: 6+ months(Possible extension or conversion) JOB DESCRIPTION- Position Notes: This position will directly support the newly created Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) division of Client. The manager's team supports all financials across Enterprise Technology, and currently there is not capacity on his team to focus on ED&A. The idea is that as ED&A continues to mature, they would like to get a dedicated resource in place to support this growing function. There is a possibility the role could extend or become contract-to-hire, but this depends on how ED&A matures and on funding. Ideally the manager is seeking a candidate that has advanced Excel skills (Compare, Pivot Tables, etc) as well as experience with Tableau or other BI tools. Any sort of previous project/program/portfolio management experience would be very helpful as well. The manager states that this individual should be able to create a financial plan based on work effort. Overview: The Enterprise Technology Finance team is responsible for the overall financial management of the diverse Market areas/Foundational Units that comprise Enterprise Technology (ET) and Enterprise Data and Analytics (eDNA). This team engages technology and data leaders in the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as expense and personnel forecasting, return on investment tracking of enterprise initiatives, and variance analysis. Regular collaboration with executives and senior leaders within ET and eDNA and across the various business units will offer an opportunity to providing strategic insights and financial recommendations through cost transparency, making a lasting impact on ClientFinancial Job Responsibilities: Provide detailed transactional research through queried journal entries and invoice review. Produce SmartView reports to ensure accuracy of financial reports and perform variance analysis. Complete monthly reconciliation activities and quarterly accrual submissions to ensure appropriate expense accounting. Perform variance and trend analysis on expense allocations and the impacts to the business units. Identify expense coding errors impacting expense management and submit appropriate adjustments to Expense Accounting for correction. Assist in the annual budgeting cycles and monthly forecasting processes. Support return on investment analysis on the portfolio of Enterprise Technology investments.
