We boldly go.This role has been designated as Hybrid, and must sit geographically near one of the following locations within SBU Scope: Davidson, NC; Columbia, SC; Fort Smith, AR; Grand Rapids, MI; La Crosse, WI; Pueblo, CO; St. Paul, MN, Lynn Haven, FL; Rushville, IN; Waco, TX; Clarksville, TN.Job Summary:The CHVAC SBU Materials Leader – Materials Flow has a variety of important responsibilities necessary to the transformational growth and development of Trane Technologies Integrated Materials Management. This role will be responsible for designing and providing sustainability and improvements of the Materials Management operations and processes in the existing and future manufacturing plants, as well as support any new business ventures or expansions. Activities will include strategic and day-to-day support to the Materials Management operations. This role will travel up to 50% of the time.Responsibilities: Optimize Materials Management related direct labor headcount through continuous improvement activities. Implement and maintain the strategic plan for business systems applications and systems readiness. This includes but not limited to tools utilized for, material signaling and flow, warehousing, shipping, receiving, material transaction management systems, work center management) Ensure cross functional (Plant Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Material Handling) aligned assumptions, layouts, and timing for material flow applications. Lead SBU implementation of Material Flow Strategy (fork-free, kitting, material feeding, automation, Materials Management cost optimization, floor space optimization, & third-party cost minimization). Work with plant teams to design supermarkets, kanban’s, JIT, smart-buffers and other advanced material storage or replenishment solutions. Identify cost/waste reduction opportunities through continuous improvement approach. Conduct investigations or tests of considerable complexity about the development of new Logistics or manufacturing operations major production activities, along with the definition and selection of new concepts and approaches in Logistics and manufacturing operations. Develop solutions to material flow challenges including containerization, kanban’s, production and warehouse layout, kitting, kit delivery and IT requirements. Identify new and emerging technologies and enhance existing processes designed to stimulate a competitive advantage in supporting the new and existing business functions. Ensure continuous improvement of team mindset and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Materials Management visibility, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency.Qualifications and Key Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in business, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 10 years of hand-on Supply Chain experience. Experience with direct responsibility of large Supply Chain operation (>100 associates) is required. Minimum 5 years’ experience interacting with operations of various countries/cultures. Demonstrates strong leadership, is highly reliable and has a positive attitude. Expertise in ERP for Logistics and Materials Flow. Ability to design material routes, JIT, min-max and other Lean manufacturing materials flow solution. Proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team oriented environment. Individual must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to interface and influence up and down the organization to drive stakeholder buy-in. Demonstrated mastery of project management and analytical skills. In-depth understanding of world-class Materials Management execution. Must be able to travel 50%. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and the effective implementation of kaizen, six sigma and kanban material management operational excellence tools and techniques.Base Pay Range: $100,000-$184,000. Total compensation will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer : This base pay range is based on US national averages.
