Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Perianesthesia Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Perianesthesia team! Position Summary: The Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. The Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to work in all areas of Perianesthesia (Pre-op, Phase I/PACU, and Phase II/Discharge). Includes preparing patients for surgery (vital signs, point of care testing, skin preparation, documentation in Epic, etc.) assisting nurses during recovery (SCD machines, ambulation, assist with dressing, etc.), and transporting patients post-operatively. Breaks are important to our team Lactation room in department Regular team recognition events Workgroups/Interdisciplinary Collaboration Monthly nursing assistant team meeting Monthly educational offerings Shared Governance Committee Work Schedule: 0.7 FTE, D/E 8 Hour shifts, up to every other weekend Required Qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant and current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. All candidates must be current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student, which means completion of first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program. BLS required Preferred Qualifications Currently validated CPR skills preferred.
