Back to search Location: St. Cloud, MN Department: Safety and Claims Posted: 3/21/2025 Location Name: ATS Corporate - St. Cloud, MN Wage Max: 72,000.00 Annual Wage Min: 63,000.00 Annual SummaryThe Safety Specialist is responsible to ensure safety compliance by: facilitating on-the-job training with drivers, reviewing and monitoring safety processes, performing accident investigations, assisting with driver counseling and partnering with internal and external customers on equipment safety issues. This position works in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Education and Experience

2 or 4 year degree in related field and 2-4 years of experience in driver training/facilitation or an equivalent experience.

Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation compliance regulations.

Class A CDL holder with driving experience preferred.

Excellent knowledge of heavy haul tractor/trailer requirements and working knowledge of wind transportation industry or the ability to learn.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).

Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work independently.

Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.

Must be analytical with the ability to apply data.

Must be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.

Must be able to both think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.

Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate driver training in the safe operation of tractor equipment, securement and loading skills, and FMSCA regulations and policies.

Complete post-classroom, monthly and annual in-person training with drivers.

Identify & perform retraining of drivers needing refresher training.

Teaches value driven driving courses.

Review DOT reportable incidents and accidents and evaluates to determine preventability.

Review LYTX videos, data and behavioral trends daily.

Support Fleet Managers with LYTX coaching, feedback and reporting. Also support in discussing strategies and providing positive feedback to drivers.

Provide direct coaching to drivers identified through safety programs.

Facilitate driver recognition programs, Lytx Recognition, Safety Driven Spotlight, etc.

Support Securement programs.

Facilitate Heavy Haul Training and education program management.

Provide reporting and statistical evaluations and analysis as needed or requested by partners.

Understands and consistently performs in accordance with ATS Mission, Vision, and Values.

Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $63,000 to $72,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
