Description We're seeking a skilled Data Ops Engineer who recognizes the pivotal role of data in driving business success. Working collaboratively with our Data Architecture and Data Engineering teams, you'll contribute to the design and implementation of solutions ensuring the consistent delivery of accurate and reliable data across our enterprise. Your responsibilities will include supporting and enhancing our data platform and associated tools to optimize existing data pipelines and facilitate the creation of new ones.Technical Platform Operations:
Employ Python and SQL to automate administrative tasks, leveraging APIs and CLIs to foster the growth of our data platform.
Collaborate closely with technical teams to understand and address their environment requirements effectively.
Administer cloud-native platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Qlik, Event Hubs, and Power BI, along with other Azure services.
Develop notification systems to ensure the operational integrity of cloud platforms, implementing alerts for timely issue detection.
Manage patching and upgrades to maintain platform efficiency and security.
Provide support for issue resolution and escalation as needed.
Generate reports on platform metrics, including adoption rates and alignment with business goals.
Create custom DevOps capabilities where existing tools or platforms lack built-in solutions.
Engage with software vendors to stay abreast of new platform capabilities and tools.
Establish and enforce platform-wide standards to ensure consistency and reliability.
Evaluate data pipeline alignment with established standards.
Monitor platform uptime to ensure optimal performance.
Participate in MVP and PoC initiatives to explore new technical capabilities.
Conduct root cause analysis to address platform issues effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience in data operations or a related field.
Proficiency in Python and SQL is required
Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms, particularly Snowflake, Databricks, Qlik, Event Hubs, and Power BI are preferred (not required)
Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
