Overview:$17 / hourMinimum Age: 18 An internship with Valleyfair Food and Beverage Administration will have varied experiences within our Administration team, including understanding daily administration operations and training programs. They will learn the ins and outs of our training, onboarding, and administration processes and will report directly to the Administrative Assistant of Food and Beverage. Throughout your internship, you will learn more about the key functions of Food and Beverage administration, such as scheduling, training facilitation, record keeping, and course instruction.An internship with Valleyfair is sure to be a rewarding and educational experience. While you will get hands on experience working in the park, you will also:

Learn about different areas of Food and Beverage operation.

Interact with executive leaders to brainstorm and problem solve.

Interact with executive leaders to brainstorm and problem solve.

Gain college credit – Valleyfair will work with you individually to meet school requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Developing, and facilitating departmental training courses in a classroom setting for seasonal associates.

Coordinating and monitoring course enrollment, schedules, and materials.

Assisting with record keeping, auditing, and payroll to maintain required reporting compliances.

Updating educational material such as presentations, videos, PowerPoints, etc. as needed.

Preparing training materials and reserving classroom spaces as needed.

Printing and distributing operations paperwork.

Informing management of associate absences and handling timecard violations.

Taking phone and radio calls and passing along information as needed.

Mandatory ServSafe Food and ServSafe Alcohol course completion and certification.

Complete a capstone project to support your school’s internship requirements.

Responsibilities:During this internship program you will have the opportunity to see different areas of our Food and Beverage department, as well as understand how they work together to manage operations that are critical to Valleyfair. Internships will be specifically tailored to each intern and the requirements of their program.Qualifications:

Take initiative and maintain the company’s reputation and dedication to safety, service, courtesy, cleanliness, and integrity.

Work collaboratively in a team setting and work independently.

Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, including speaking in front of groups.

Utilize problem solving skills, including having the ability to remain patient, poised, and alert to cope with challenging/unique situations.

Demonstrate strong time management, planning, and organizational skills in order to optimize productivity.

Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
