Description Robert Half is excited to announce a new opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant for our reputable client based in St. Paul, MN. This contract position will provide you with the chance to navigate through a range of activities and challenges.Key Responsibilities:
Work on reconciliations and month-end close items
Prepare and execute journal entries
Assist with audit preparation and workbooks
Undertake bank reconciliations for investment
Handle insurance claims and certificates of insurance
Participate in cross-training for all accounting functions, including higher-level work
Plan and execute spreadsheet overhaul requiring strong Excel skills
Evaluate process documents for usability and effectiveness
Approve A/P invoices (Utilities)
Handle lien waivers
Enforce expense reporting policies, interpret, and communicate complex policies

A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting
Solid accounting theory knowledge and practical experience
Strong understanding of the financial close process, knowing how the Statement of Activities closes into the Balance Sheet, along with a good understanding of the Balance Sheet
Sound knowledge of debits and credits and revenue recognition.
