Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Saint Paul, MN. This role offers a hybrid work environment and a short-term contract. The ideal candidate will provide critical administrative and customer support across various HR functions, with a focus on benefits, compliance, and employee relations.

Assist in COBRA administration, ensuring compliance and effective communication with employees.

Provide support for strike placement processes, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Serve as a COBRA mentor to new employees, offering guidance and support as they onboard.

Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes related to HR operations.

Process, organize, and maintain retiree insurance information with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Respond to employee and retiree inquiries, demonstrating strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.

Distribute physical material packets and handle incoming mail efficiently.

Utilize HRMS for administrative tasks, reporting, and auditing.

Support benefits administration and other human resources functions as needed.

Leverage credit files to enhance customer service and record-keeping.

Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to grow within the role by taking on additional responsibilities over time.

Requirements

Proficient in Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS)

Experience in auditing and maintaining accurate records

Familiarity with various benefit functions and processes

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries professionally and promptly

Strong organizational capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Experience in handling credit files and ensuring their confidentiality

Proven conflict resolution skills, including the ability to mediate and resolve issues effectively

Comfortable handling inbound telephone calls, including the ability to manage high call volumes

Solid understanding of Human Resources (HR) administration, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and compliance procedures.
