Job DescriptionDakota County Technical College seeks a full-time, unlimited Civil Engineering Technology Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirement

Associate degree in civil engineering technology or land surveying technology, or a civil engineering degree

Occupational Experience Requirement

Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in civil engineering and/or land surveying field, performing duties as a technician, engineer or surveyor

Recency Requirement

One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree.

Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population

Experience with learning communities or team teaching

Experience in curriculum development

Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction

Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies

Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction

Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes
