The Mechanical Engineering Intern learns from a team that keeps NSI on the cutting edge of NDT technology. This position sustains existing product and supports technical innovations to industrial x-ray, automation, and CT products from prototype to commercialization.  What you will do:Collaborate with engineers to provide robust mechanical design and technical support of NSI products and components throughout product lifecycle.Analyze and have input to complex machine designs incorporating motion control systems, robotics, and part handling in accordance with product requirements. Design assemblies and components using SolidWorks.Prepare detailed drawings and bills of materials for the fabrication and assembly of equipment.Provide analysis of drive systems, structural assemblies and sub-components using basic calculation methods and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).Interface with manufacturing to support product assembly, testing, troubleshooting and installation.Interface with project/product management to ensure projects meet schedule and delivery requirements.Develop working knowledge of X-ray and NDT techniques through NSI technical experts and practical application.Lead and participate in design reviews for minor designs with cross functional teams and customers.Collaborate with a cross functional team of software, controls, and NDT engineers to develop innovative solutions.
