Teach in an innovative and inspiring graduate program.

Teach courses in graduate nursing core courses (e.g. quality improvement, informatics, health assessment, evidence-based practice), role courses (e.g. APRN, nurse educator, nurse leader), and interprofessional courses commensurate with department needs.

Maintain immunizations and background study clearance and other requirements of the department and college.

Work effectively with health care industry and community affiliates to address graduate nursing education, research, and practice issues.

Assist with accreditation processes, program development and growth, program assessment, program evaluation, and curriculum design and delivery.

effectively through collaboration with other professionals in the health care industry and the community.

Foster cultural intelligence, inclusive excellence, equity, and global involvement through authentic and professional relationships.

Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media, including simulation, commensurate with department and university needs.

Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.

Willingness to embrace new educational and patient technologies; provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.

Contribute to student learning and development including student advising and chairing or serving on master’s thesis, scholarly inquiry paper, or Doctor of Nursing Practice Project committees.

Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in nursing or related field awarded prior to first duty day.

Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration, or eligible for licensure, in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Satisfactory background study clearance as required by Minnesota statutes.

Evidence of clinical experience in area of role preparation.

Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, nonverbal and written methods.

Evidence of formal or informal teaching in the academic, practice or community setting.

Ability to teach courses in graduate nursing core courses (e.g. quality improvement, informatics, health assessment, evidence-based practice) and role courses (e.g. APRN, nurse educator, nurse leader) commensurate with department needs.

Health care provider CPR certification.

Preferred Qualification

Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.

Demonstrated experience implementing and evaluation of innovative and evidence informed clinical practices.

Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching skills in clinical and classroom settings.

Demonstrated experience teaching with simulation modalities.

Demonstrated proficiency in design and delivery of teaching technologies (e.g., Web-based learning platforms, synchronous Internet meeting programs, email, database management, data storage, distance learning).

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and engage well with diverse students, faculty, administrators, and community partners.

Demonstrated teaching experience in subject areas such as core DNP content such as informatics, evidence-based practice, interprofessional practice, and role courses.

Demonstrated ability to effectively work and collaborate as a member of a team.

Demonstrated experience in advising and supervising graduate level students.

Demonstrated evidence of clinical scholarship, research, professional association involvement, or creative achievement.
