Summer Overview Program Dates: June 10, 2025 – August 15, 2025 Staff Set-Up Days: Tuesday, June 10 – Thursday, June 12 (Staff Only) Youth Program Dates: Friday, June 13 – Friday, August 15 Program Closures: June 19, July 3 and July 4 Staff Time Off: Up to 5 unpaid days may be taken during the summer. Program Hours: Monday – Friday: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM   Employment Details:  Employment Dates: June 10, 2025 – August 15, 2025 (includes pre-summer planning and meetings). Work Hours: This will be an 8 hour shift that will support all Kidstop locations as needed and/or be assigned to one location.  Typical shift/work hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Locations: Rice Lake Elementary Rush Creek Elementary Woodland Elementary   Additional Notes:  Staff hours and locations may be adjusted based on youth attendance, staffing needs, or field trips. All staff are expected to work through August 15, 2025.     Who We Are  Kidstop offers a robust summer experience for incoming K-5 youth, serving around 1,100 plus working families during the summer months. We are committed to providing an enriching, caring, safe, and equitable environment with fun and exciting choices for youth to engage in daily.  Youth experience a choice-based environment with age-appropriate activities and field trips. We build relationships with students, learn what youth want to do, and implement their ideas. We support all youth, building in accommodations as needed. Youth are grouped by grade levels within each building: K-1, 2-3, and 4-5.   Responsibilities   Youth Support and Guidance:  Assist Kidstop staff in meeting the diverse needs of youth. Provide individualized and group support to address emotional, social, and behavioral needs.   Alternative Techniques and Experiences:  Develop and implement a variety of techniques, strategies, and engaging experiences to help youth succeed in the program. Collaboration: Partner with the summer nurse and team to assess and address youth health and well-being needs.   Family and Youth Success Guidance:  Offer support and guidance to staff, youth, and families to ensure youth thrive in the summer program. Create opportunities for families to engage with and participate in programming.   Early Interventions and Accommodations:  Develop and implement early intervention strategies and accommodations for youth struggling with program structure or daily expectations. Observe and respond to youth both in classroom and outdoor settings, creating actionable success plans. Dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all families, youth, and staff regardless of abilities, ethnicities, genders, and religious beliefs. Assist with medical, physical, or behavioral needs as necessary. Operate adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, augmentative communication devices, assistive technology) and ensure proper use. Assist youth with self-care tasks (e.g., feeding, dressing, toileting) as needed, including repositioning and functional tasks.   Skill Development and Problem Solving:  Create, facilitate, and lead activities to help youth:Develop coping strategies. Foster problem-solving skills. Manage conflicts and develop tolerance. Build effective social skills. Facilitate and organize enriching opportunities for youth across different age groups, abilities, and identities.   Behavioral Support and PBIS Implementation:  Assist in creating and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS). Collaborate with staff and families to address and support youth behaviors. Observe, collect, and report data as directed by an Individual Educational Plan (IEP), ensuring adherence to Federal Education Reporting Practices Act (FERPA) and program policies.   Staff Training and Development:  Support staff development by observing, training, and sharing techniques as needed to improve program quality. Participate in planning and delivery of training sessions for staff. Field Trip Support and Planning: Assist with planning field trips and create accommodations for youth as needed. Attend field trips to provide direct support and ensure all youth can participate successfully. Site Coordination and Collaboration: Support up to three (3) Kidstop elementary locations, coordinating daily with staff and stakeholders. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure the program meets youth needs effectively. Required Qualifications: Valid Minnesota teaching license in appropriate field. Desired Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of social/emotional skills and resources. Considerable knowledge of culturally responsive, research-based positive behavior intervention practices that include the use of trauma-informed and restorative practices. Considerable knowledge of  learning styles and needs.  Knowledge of out-of-school time and choice-based programming. Considerable skill in small and large group management, facilitation and organization. Ability to effectively facilitate and/or participate in team meetings and parent meetings. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience working with high needs youth and their supporting adults. Effective leadership skills. Job Type:  Full-time, Summer Casual Bargaining Unit:  Casual Salary:  $35/hour
