Pay: $25/hour

Job Purpose: As a Maintenance Technician, you are a supportive and communicative team member who completes preventative maintenance, janitorial work and basic building repairs. You ensure consistent and quality service delivery.

Schedule:

-Full-time; 40 hours/week

-Monday-Friday

Location: This position will be at our 4 Twin Cities locations: Golden Valley, Coon Rapids, St. Paul, and Woodbury. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be willing to travel between sites.

Interview Process: 1 30-minute virtual video interview followed by a 30 minute in-person interview

What you will be doing as a Maintenance Technician:

Repair and Maintenance — Complete maintenance and cleaning tasks indoors and outdoors, basic troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and pest control.

Presentation — Maintain acceptable levels of cleanliness in public areas and work with other departments to ensure common areas are kept organized, clean, and accessible.

Decision Making — Plan and complete work based on the ticketing system and priorities set by the team.

Customer Service — Provide consistent and timely communication regarding work orders, projects, and concerns.

Communication — Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.

Support — Support organizational wide presentations standards and projects at all locations.

Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

What we are looking for in a Maintenance Technician:

Experience — Minimum of 1 year of janitorial or maintenance experience required.

Physical & Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of euthanasia. This position requires a high level of mobility and dexterity. The ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. is also required.

Communication — Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to work independently and as a member of the team, partnering collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.

Adaptability — Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Computer Skills — Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Schedule — Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours as defined by management with flexibility to work evening, weekend, after hour, and on call shifts.

Transportation - Valid driver’s license required.
