Description:
Heavy Equipment operators are responsible for safely and effectively operating heavy equipment used in Highway Heavy Construction, and installation of utility infrastructure. There must be an awareness of surroundings, and must be familiar with reading plans, shooting grades, operating lasers, and laying out/staging jobs.
Qualifications:
Excavator A minimum of 3 years experience operating 100,000+ pound excavator, digging and setting pipe, digging with trench boxes, digging competent trenches, digging around underground utilities. Must know hand signals and be able to dig around personnel.
Loader A minimum of 3 years experience operating 4+ yard loader, knowledge in sewer and water material, loading and unloading pipe, as well as compaction experience
Dozer - A minimum of 3 years experience operating dozer, backfilling and grading, as well as compaction experience
Excellent communication skills including a positive attitude
General knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry
General knowledge of mechanical operations of heavy equipment
Required to take care of daily equipment maintenance
