Star Manufacturing is currently looking for a Machinist (using conversational programming) to join their talented team in Blaine, MN.

Star Manufacturing services the medical device, packaging, and other industries. Star Manufacturing has been in business for over 30 years and continues to provide superior support for all of their customers.

Full time position.

Clean and Air Conditioned Shop.

Room for advancement into senior position.

Typically machine small parts less than 5 lbs.

No night shift or weekends.

Work week: 4-10hour days (Monday thru Thursday). Some overtime required from time to time.

Will be trained into role from senior machinists.

Once you are established, you will work independently on your own.

Pay depends on qualifications ($30 - $35 per hour).

Core Responsibilities:

Able to machine prototype parts and short-run production proficiently.

Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude skills.

Natural ability of building and designing mechanical fixtures/parts.

Solid communication skills.

Ability to work with other machinists.

Desired Skills. Star Manufacturing is willing to train the right person on the following skills.

Five plus years’ experience in job shop environment.

Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude skills.

Machining steel, aluminum, and plastics.

Some experience with conversational programming, ideally TRAC CNC systems.

Making high quality parts to specifications.

Helps develop workable methods for machining operations.

Makes proper use of machines, tooling, and inspection equipment.

Sets up machines and inspects all required operations.

Proficient at inspecting sizes and geometries down to 0.001".

Expectations:

Learn conversational programming with CNC machines and start machining basic parts within 3-6 weeks.

Can work independently with minimal supervision, and work well with other machinists.
