JOB DESCRIPTION
Minnesota Industrial Tooling Inc (MITI, formerly Technical Methods Inc) is looking for candidates that have an interest in becoming a foundry patternmaker. Patternmakers are highly skilled industrial tradesmen that build tooling for foundries. Foundry tooling (and patternmakers) play a critical role in the efficient and economical mass-production of metal-cast parts made by foundries across the country.
We have been in business for over 30 years and are looking for the next generation of passionate artisans to train. Training you will receive to become a Journeyman Patternmaker:
1) Proficiency in operating manual machinery such as radial drills, table saws, drill presses, lathes, grinders, and sanders
2) Proficiency in mixing, pouring, and molding plastics
3) Proficiency in analyzing part geometry using CAD models, blueprints, and measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers to identify parting lines, loose-piece requirements, draft requirements, and the overall manufacturing approach for their assigned task
4) Insight into the tooling design elements that enable our foundry customers to be as productive as possible
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a background check
- Must be detail-oriented, mechanically minded, and a fast learner
- A demonstrated history of integrity, work ethic, and collaboration in a team environment
- A desire to serve a community, industry, or cause greater than themselves
