LEASING AGENT - Churchill Apartments - Full-Time

RMK Management has an immediate opening for a LEASING AGENT at The Churchill Apartments in Minneapolis. This is a terrific opportunity to work with a company that is growing, promotes from within and has excellent benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Rent apartment homes at the assigned property to prospective residents.

Answer phone and email inquiries from prospective residents; use standard sales techniques to encourage a visit to the community.

Meet with prospective residents and checks the availability of apartments that best fit their desires and budget.

Show apartments and the overall community to prospective residents; explain features of living at the community; use standard sales closing methods to sell the prospective resident on RMK.

Take required information from prospective residents after they have indicated a desire to move to the property; complete all paperwork and computer entry associated with leasing activities.

Contact prospective resident of approval/disapproval; assist them in completing the lease and receive initial rent payment; assist new resident with the move-in process.

Prepare and maintain a file for each resident.

Contact residents with expiring leases to discuss renewals and encourage the renewal of the lease.

Assist others in marketing efforts in the community to promote the property positively and to help bring in prospective residents. This includes implementing and carrying out marketing efforts such as outside marketing calls.

Take resident calls for service or other needs and forward to the appropriate team member; write work orders for service; promote good resident relations through courteous and timely response to resident needs and concerns.

Answer outside phone calls and greet visitors.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

Basic computer and grammar skills.

Must pass background and drug screening prior to employment.

Minimum of one year of work experience as a leasing consultant within the apartment industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Yardi, CRM and/or Rent Cafe

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Above average ability to communicate with clients and with co-workers both verbally and in writing. Basic personal computer skills and ability to learn specialized software use.

Skill to convince prospective residents of the advantages of living at the community by using sales closing methods.

Knowledge of the work of other associates at a property.

Ability to organize work.

Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some holidays as required.

Ability to learn and comply with industry legal requirements, especially related to federal and local Fair Housing Laws.

Ability to travel off-site for training courses and outside marketing calls.
