Looking for an Administrative Assistant / Office Manager for our custom car shop. I love owning and running my shop, but there is just too much for just me on the business side. I need help to keep myself and the team on track, and keep us organized. Right now, I think the job would be part time, 20-30 hours a week, but if you can help in the shop, this could easily be full time.

The right candidate will be organized and detail oriented. The perfect candidate will like vintage cars and restomods, and will be able to perform basic shop duties in addition to office duties. Our shop is generally clean and well lit and is not the dingy, scary automotive shop you might imagine. I want everybody to feel comfortable here, and the person to fit this role would be a part of that. We have a comfortable, friendly work environment, and we work as a team, not a collection of individuals.

We are a small business, currently myself and 4 employees, and there are lots of tasks that we need to keep on top of. I’m hoping to find a person that can take some of that burden from me so I can focus on growing the business and finding new and unique ways to build hot rods.

We do not offer health insurance, but do offer a 401k and a very flexible workplace. We are open 9-5, Monday - Friday. Your schedule could fit almost anywhere in this. You might work part time around a school schedule, or retirement schedule, or work full time. There are lots of options.

Required skills

Self driven - once a task or project is identified, you will understand expectations and work on your own or with others to complete the work with minimal direction.

Well organized and reliable.

High work and personal ethics - We are an ethical company working to provide employees and customers high value and work to exceed expectations wherever possible. This may drive rework or extra work to get things right.

Quality work - Do it right the first time and build it like it's your car. Perfection is not our goal, but reliable function is.

Hard working - Really, I want people who can work smarter more than work harder, but the goal is to get things done quickly and save plenty of time for life outside of work.

Works well as an individual as well as in a team. We mostly work on our own, but there is significant need to share and collaborate.

A passion, or at least interest, in cars

Duties and Experience:

Answer phone calls, maintain customer waiting list, schedule customer vehicle drop-off and pick-up

Invoice clients, talk to clients about payments, and perform basic bookkeeping in Quickbooks online.

Order consumable parts / materials for the office and shop

Update and maintain office policies and procedures

Help organize lobby and shop area and keep things clean and tidy

Help in shopping, preparing, and clean up for lunch which we provide every day

Help maintain sales through Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, etc.

I’m looking to start some retail “Speed Shop” sales from our shop as well, and you would be a big part of that as well.

Maintaining website / blog and social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube) as well as other marketing. This could include some events, like car shows, that are in the evening or on the weekend, but that would never be mandatory.

Basic project management, helping look at project hours, progress, road blocks, etc. Help keep projects on track.

Job Type: Part time

Salary: $15 - $22 per hour
