Spirit Catholic Community seeks a .75 FTE (30 hours per week) Spiritual Life Coordinator to empower and support meaningful liturgy and prayer, and the faith and spiritual development of all ages. The Coordinator supports the identification and development of lay leadership and ensures that the pastoral care needs of the community are addressed. We are an independent Catholic community dedicated to social justice, nonviolence, and inclusivity. We empower community leadership, center our worship around the Eucharist, and support LGBTQIA+ members while addressing racial injustice.
Responsibilities
Provide support and serve as a resource and guide to empower the effective functioning of the Liturgy and Prayer, Faith and Spiritual Growth, and Spirit Cares Committees and subcommittees.
Ensure the recruitment, training, scheduling, and support of prayer leaders, liturgy volunteers, and other volunteers in their work to create meaningful liturgy and prayer.
Assist in the creation of rituals associated with sacramental life, other special rituals, and programs or events for the spiritual growth of all ages.
Provide weekly and seasonal resources for liturgical ministers, worship aid content, website content, and teachers of children.
Schedule, support, and advise musicians and homilists with weekly and seasonal resources.
Ensure the recruitment, training, scheduling, and support of teachers and other volunteers in their work to plan and coordinate educational events and activities for children, youth, families, and adults.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Demonstrated skill in liturgical planning and faith and spiritual development of all ages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
Previous experience with Church ministry, especially in the Catholic context
Bachelor’s or master's degree in divinity, religion, or related field
3-5 years of relevant lived, volunteer, and/or professional experience
Must be located in commutable distance to Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Experience empowering community leadership and volunteers
Comfortable working across cultures, coalitions, generations, and religious beliefs and practices
Commitment to social justice
Experience supporting liturgy, prayer, or pastoral care within a faith community setting
Experience supporting faith and spiritual development of all ages within a faith community
