Surgical Instrument Repair Technician

Objectives of this Role

An Instrument Repair Technician is responsible for the restoration, maintenance and Repair of surgical instruments for hospitals, medical centers and clinics. They are expected to provide a full range of repairs for all instruments ranging from forceps and scissors to pneumatic power tools. An Instrument Repair Technician will work with a wide variety of hand tools, small bench top equipment, grinding wheels, precision machining equipment, various metal working equipment, and other specialized equipment to execute repairs in a workshop environment. He or she will also be responsible for managing workflow and handling some shipping and receiving duties as well as other minor responsibilities. This role also requires creativity, problem solving, and teamwork. A position with our growing company will offer great long-term opportunities for someone who is dedicated to learning and mastering a craft. Some Travel throughout the metro area will be required after training.

Daily Responsibilities

Shop Tech:

Process Work Orders in shop

Use a variety of Machinery and equipment for Repairs

Write up Backorders

Meet shop work deadlines and prepare for return to customers

Follow rules and regulations for Shop

Communicate with Shop Manger in regards to repairs

On/Off Site Preventive Maintenance Repairs

Clean up of work station

Follow Procedures for Repairs

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

1 or more years of experience working with light workshop equipment

Experience with or ability to learn light fabrication, machining, brazing, torch use, welding, and other related skills

Good mechanical skills and dexterity

Basic computer skills

Detail-oriented, dependable, and possess a positive attitude

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $18+ per hour depending on experience

Experience:

History working with a wide variety of hand tools and machining equipment

Experience in related Field

Able to creatively solve problems

Work well individually or in a team environment

Good Communication Skills

Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Physical Work location setting:

Shop in Person

Sit/Stand for a long period of time

Schedule:

Day shift

Monday to Friday
