Processing Technician - 2nd Shift

General Pattern Co. is seeking a skilled Processing Technician to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in Injection Molding Setup and Processing and be proficient in:

Establishing press operating parameters

Processing parts to meet specifications

Setting up sample and production molds

Troubleshooting and correcting processing issues

Inspecting parts for accuracy and quality

Removing and staging molds from presses

Continuously identifying and implementing process improvements

Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:45 pm – 6:00 am. This is an overnight shift.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Locate and identify the proper molds ordered for production.

Check part numbers and verify samples or prints to ensure the correct part is produced.

Schedule Injection Presses.

Plan ahead for upcoming setups by locating and preparing mold runs.

Set up and adjust corresponding equipment beforehand.

Validate that the first samples meet the part requirements and recheck samples periodically for proper quality.

Install aluminum molds into injection molding presses.

Set up machine operating parameters to process to specifications - Sample Molds.

Set up machine operating parameters from cycle sheets and process to specifications - Production Molds.

Secure molds to platen and assemble heater cartridges and leads.

Correct problems at the press.

Work with production groups to meet customer demands.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while emphasizing quality and efficiency.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of materials used and resin processing.

Able to Supervise, Direct, and Train employees in the Injection Molding Department.

Work with others to smooth transitions between shifts.

Ability to be licensed to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts.

Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and scales.

Ability to lift 55 lbs. and stand/ walk throughout the day.

Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).

Must have reliable transportation.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and agreeable to overtime.

Experience in warehouse environments with moderate noise levels.

Self-directed worker.
