Mindak Commercial Construction is a wood-framing subcontractor that specializes in the framing of commercial buildings. We are currently hiring for a full-time Crane Operator. This individual operates an overhead crane with remote control equipment to transport wood materials during the construction process.
Job Summary
The Crane Operator operates a Potain tower crane with remote control equipment to transport wood materials during the construction process. This position is a field member with the primary goal of satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery, in a safe manner while maximizing productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates a Potain Tower Crane along with other heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in wood-framing construction.
Assists in framing and job site clean-up during crane down times.
Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, superintendent, or construction manager.
Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job trainings.
Performs daily inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor, cleans equipment.
Controls site traffic by flagging off necessary areas surrounding equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience
2 years' experience in operating heavy equipment preferred
Crane Certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use preferred.
Demonstrated ability to make good independent judgment and decisions.
Good teamwork and collaboration effort.
Strong problem solving, multitasking and organizational skills.
Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills (methods to include phone, email, & text messaging).
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on a frequent basis and up to one-hundred pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically-powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required.

Work is performed outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards.
