We are looking for a pastry assistant to join our award winning team at Alma!
Alma is a nationally recognized casual restaurant owned by James Beard award winning chef Alex Roberts. We serve nourishing food inspired by the wonderful local farmers and suppliers that we work with. We feature house-made pastries, sandwiches, signature plates, coffee, wine and cocktails. Under the direction of our Pastry Chef, pastry assistants will laminate dou gh, produce a variety of items for our pastry case, and create the components of our plated desserts in both our Café and Restaurant Alma. We are seeking a candidate who recognizes the value of welcoming, inclusive hospitality, working collaboratively with others, and enjoys a fun, fast paced environment.

The pastry assistant could be full time or part time. Starting at $18/hour depending on experience. Weekend availability required. Experience in large volume bread making or viennoiserie is a huge plus. Ideal candidateworks efficiently with a sense of urgency and a positive attitude.

We are looking for:
Experience with working in a professional kitchen
Self-starter, able to see production needs and prioritize projects
Consistent time management and organizational skills
Attention to detail, including an ability to maintain a clean and safe station
A positive attitude
Team player, able and willing to work in a collaborative kitchen and help other staff when they need it
The desire to learn
A curious and resilient approach to work
Physical stamina to lift 50lbs minimum and work 8-10 hour shifts standing
Must have weekend availability
