Summary of Position The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a key campus partner to research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the institution. This position is a dynamic and engaging role that serves as the “face” of Augsburg for applicants throughout the hiring lifecycle.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.Collaborates with department leaders to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the institution.In partnership with hiring managers, creates and revises job descriptions.Leads job posting and advertisement processes.Screens applications and ensures selected candidates meet position qualifications.Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.Partners with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary range, start dates, and other pertinent details.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and University policies.Additional ResponsibilitiesAttends and participates in job fairs and recruitment events.Facilitates bi-weekly New Staff Orientation sessions and conducts campus tours.Facilitates training sessions related to best practices in talent acquisition.May participate in the Exit Interview process. Other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).Work Environment and Physical DemandsThis is a hybrid position working four (4) days per week on campus with one (1) remote work day depending on department and University needs. The hybrid schedule will begin after successful completion of the new employee engagement period and once all onboarding and orientation has been successfully completed.Extensive computer and phone use.Extensive interaction (verbal, written, face-to-face, and remote) with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Sedentary work – sitting/standing at a desk for long periods of time (frequent).Ability to lift up to 15 pounds (seldom).
