URGENT HIRING FOR SAMPLE PREAPRATION TECHNICIAN ROLES!( LAST CHANCE TO APPLY)Description:SAMPLE PREPARATION TECHNICIAN DESCRIPTIONThis position is in the Sample Handling Facility of General Mills' internal quality labs. Responsibilities include use of various grinding mills and procedures for the preparation of food grade samples for Analytical testing. Primary duties will be the preparation of samples for Analytical testing: use of a variety of milling equipment blenders, Magic Bullet grinder, Stein Mill, Retch Mill.Position involves the use and handling of Liquid Nitrogen to prepare samples for Analytical testing at an average frequency of 2 hours per day. When using liquid nitrogen for milling purposes, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn, consisting of OSHA-approved safety glasses, laboratory coat, and cryogenic gloves. Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for sample preparation and laboratory testing. Filing documentation in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), data entry, and communicate timelines for testing results.General lab upkeep including ordering and stocking lab supplies, cleaning, equipment maintenance.Titrations/wet chemistry/extractions, dilutions as needed for sample prep.Skills:food science, sample prep, Laboratory, LIMS, data entry, document, nutrition, scienceTop Skills Details:food science ,sample prep ,LaboratoryAdditional Skills & Qualifications:

4 year degree is required. BA/BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or scientific degree

They have a culture where there is a lot of collaboration and teamwork and they are looking for someone who has good communication skills in a team atmosphere. (Someone with an extraverted personality type would tend to do well, but this isn't required.)

+6 months of industry lab experience working in a regulated lab environment (preference for food/agriculture/nutrition/plant science, but they are also open to candidates with experience from other settings such as hospital lab work, cosmetics, chemical, medical device, etc)

Must be comfortable working in an environment with repetitive sample preparation and working in noisy environment with blenders. Hearing protection will be provided.
