Description:As a quality technician within the Diagnostic Reagent QC Lab, one would be responsible for setting up and running hematology analyzers and monitoring the instrument performance throughout the QC process. The lab consists of over 100 different hematology analyzers and the quality technician in this position would be eventually be responsible for running 50% of the lab instruments.The goal of the hematology qc group is to ensure that the control and calibration products that they are manufacturing meet specifications. The end user of their products are hospitals and clinics in their labs.Additional Skills & Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Science or MLT/MLS

2+ years of industry lab experience

familiarity with GDP and/or GMP

ability to multitask

ability to change priorities as business needs change (verified from references)

-need to be okay with working overtime (around 5 hours a week, more available if desired)Ideal Qualifications-someone coming from a MLT/MLS role at a hospital or clinicThis position will require setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of QC hematology analyzers. This position will require monitoring instrument performance throughout the QC process and troubleshooting the instrument when necessary. This position will test hematology products for homogeneity during the bottling process by following established methods. Other tasks include proofing labels and assay sheets. This position will adhere to safety regulationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform and interpret laboratory homogeneity testing on control products.

Proo documents, labels, and assay sheets.

Troubleshoot the bottling and QC instruments when necessary

Perform manual testing on controls

Perform QC testing on 50% of the laboratory instruments.

Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
