OverviewThe occupational therapist works on an inpatient adult mental health unit in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The OT is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within their scope of practice. Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Communicates in a respective manner.
Helps ensure a safe, secure environment.
Conducts occupational therapy groups
Completes individual assessment on each patient as the patient is able
Conducts assessments, testing, and screenings, as appropriate and within scope of practice.
Works with students as able
Demonstrates clinical competency to partner with inter-disciplinary team in the treatment planning process.
Assists in developing an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, level of functioning, and other relevant needs.
Communicate frequently and effectively with multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
Documentation is through, timely, legible, and clinically appropriate and meets regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to advance evidence-based practice by utilizing standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice to continually improve care and practice so that patient outcomes are enhanced.
Completes all mandated trainings through the hospital
Fulfills all organizational requirements.
Completes all required learning relevant to role and licensure.
Complies with and maintains knowledge of relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards.
Attends unit, department, and system wide meetings, as applicable.
Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
Performs other duties as assigned.
