Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at https://corporate.target.com/careers/benefits .EMPLOYER: Target Enterprise, Inc.JOB POSITION : Merchandise PlannerLOCATION : 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403DUTIES : Lead the financials and forecasting of one of Target’s businesses and have a voice in decisions from a financial strategy standpoint (8%); act as the hub between Merchandising and Supply Chain and create a financial link between the two (5%); conduct comparative analysis of holiday or other seasonal performance reports and providing the insights that inform the Inventory team’s work to ensure that product supports projected sales (7%); provide in-season decision support, collaborate on assortment planning, recommend localization and channel strategies including cluster types and profiles, and lead demand forecasting (7%); support the divisional strategy through category expertise and partnerships with cross-functional teams and vendors (5%); lead open-to-buy process and decide on category-level investment and the financial validity of assortments (4%); conduct root cause analysis for variation between supply and demand forecasts to support “chase-cancel” decisions and communicate implications to vendors (8%); conduct scenario planning, build unit plans, and lead initial set planning and operationalization to optimize assortments (7%); interpret forecast results and conduct analysis to guide go-forward recommendations (6%); validate the unit promo planning forecast, drive maintenance, risk analysis and decision-making by the Pricing & Promotion Center of Excellence (5%); run event forecast creation and flow, analyzing item lifecycles and driving recommendations on end-of-season management (5%); analyze and translate data from multiple sources to develop enterprise financial strategies and provide operational guardrails for assortment selection that aligns to enterprise financial goals through strong analytical and critical thinking skills (10%); develop accurate category-level forecasts using deep expertise in enterprise financial and analytical modeling (5%); assist in assortment planning by providing analysis on category volume, productivity, trends, and inventory feasibility to help meet category financial, operational and strategic goals (6%); work with vendors to understand production quantities, manufacturing lead times and demand vs supply gap and reflect the insights in forecasting models (4%); and provide strategic recommendations and influence cross functional team partners by utilizing data, analytics and business acumen to ensure the right placement of inventory in stores to meet guest’s demands and company financial goals (8%). The position utilizes various tools/technologies including: Microsoft Excel (including creating formulas, v-lookups, professional charts, conditional formatting, and pivot tables), Microsoft Access, SQL, Linux, ERP software, Python, R, Java, SSAS, DOMO, amongst other relevant tools / technologies. May telecommute from any location in the U.S.REQUIREMENTS : This position requires a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field and at least three (3) years of experience in operations planning/process engineering (any title) including at least two (2) years of experience optimizing sales, working with merchandise planning, inventory management, and supply chain operations, improving key processes with supply chain, performing root cause analysis, estimating opportunities for global cost savings, building systems for future supply chain improvements, performing statistical analysis, and using SQL, Linux, R, Advanced Excel, Microsoft Access, SSAS, and DOMO.
