Opportunity at a GlanceThe Instructional Designer role is responsible for designing and creating engaging and compelling learning activities and content in conjunction with key stakeholders. With a heavy emphasis on interactive and multimedia technology-driven components, this role requires extensive collaboration with subject matter experts, business stakeholders internal reviewers, and educational technology colleagues to apply best practices of instructional design to create high-quality and innovative learning experiences and assets for Walden employees. The Instructional Designer will also develop and disseminate internal design standards, provide project management support to development efforts, and analyze learning experience effectiveness and usability across the curriculum.
ResponsibilitiesConduct needs assessment, identify learner gaps, analyze data, and make recommendations for content enhancements and/or improvements to further increase learner engagement and close learner gaps. Advises on appropriate use of educational media and technology tools to enhance instruction and create new and engaging learning environments. Work closely with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to manage and support the design and development of online, hybrid, and in-person learning experiences with an emphasis on interactive and multimedia technology-driven components. Leverages the ADDIE model to drive instructional design activities and projects. Communicate regularly and professionally with entire development team. Collaborates with colleagues in developing tools and templates for instructional development.Collaborates with Learning, Development & Enablement colleagues in developing, continually refining, and disseminating standards and best practices for instructional design and development of instructional media. Researches and stays current with emerging educational technologies. Completes other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.
