Job TitleThe Principal Integration Engineer (PIE) is a consultative expert responsible for handling technical escalations from other departments related to existing or new products. Working independently or as part of larger project teams, the PIE serves as a subject matter expert, coordinating the highest level of escalation in collaboration with Omnicell Development and Product Management. The PIE also plays a crucial role in mentoring new personnel, providing guidance on practices for reviewing and testing new interface packages to address common integration challenges encountered during the introduction of such packages. In addition to resolving integration problems, the Principal Integration Engineer promotes the implementation of Omnicell's best practices.Responsibilities
Assigned to projects of an Advanced scope and level complexity.
Install and configure interfaces to establish communication between Omnicell’s products and services and the healthcare facility’s information system.
Act as a mentor and trainer to the Senior Integration Engineers and the Integration Engineers to ensure best practices are observed.
Partner with internal teams, clients, and vendors to gather interface requirements and ensure compatibility between systems.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
Troubleshoot and resolve interface issues to maintain uninterrupted flow of data.
Validate interfaces to ensure accurate and secure transmission of data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement interface solutions that enhance operational efficiency and improve patient care.
Document interface configurations, issues, and resolutions for future reference.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements related to interface technologies and share knowledge with the team.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and resolving interface-related queries promptly.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in interface protocols and standards such as HL7, XML, FTP, and TCP/IP.
Understanding of inter-system communication methods (example HTTP(S)/TLS, FTP(S), network drive mapping and firewalls).
Advanced Knowledge of Network Diagram Reading and Creation
Subject matter expert of Omnicell systems and interface implementation troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Familiarity with healthcare information systems and workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve interface issues.
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of scripting and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) techniques and mechanisms.
Strong troubleshooting skills and strong customer communication skills (written and verbal).
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years experience in related field
7+ years of Software programming experience
7+ years of database build/configuration, or technical implementation execution
7+ years of demonstrated experience with HL7 and interface programming
Excellent customer facing communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in CS, MIS, Healthcare, or relate field
7+ years working with XML, XSLT, and ASP pages
7+ years healthcare information systems and workflows.
7+ years Omnicell systems and interface implementation troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Work Conditions
Remote work position.
Role may require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays as dictated by customer needs.
