About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accountant to work on AFS/HTM securities within investment accounting system SimCorp (SCD) and non-marketable investments.In this role, you will:

Analyze potential impacts to the reporting and system and provide timely resolution.

Making all necessary non-marketable investment accounting maintenance.

Responsible for testing, processing, and verifying the results of security taxlot transfers.

Supporting Ad hoc projects and email requests.

Updating automated processes within Excel (formats/formulas/macros) and SimCorp Dimension when system/policy changes.

Preparing/approving general ledger entries and ACH payments.

Preparing/approving cash and P/L transactions based off financial statements and appropriate GAAP accounting methodologies.

Reconciling accounts and communicating with associated teams to clear discrepancies.

Plan and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Cross training with group team members to provide backup.

Work requires detailed knowledge and attention to detail that impacts reporting and system correctness.

Attention to detail and critical thinking to solve problems and recommend viable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics

Accounting experience, specifically related to AFS/HTM and Non-Marketable Investments.

Experience with data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Python.

Ability to identify and present processes/operational enhancements.

Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management.

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
