SMThe Claims Clerk is responsible for providing support to the Claims Investigation team in reviewing, researching, following up and processing claims.This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am - 5:00pm CST, Monday - Friday.All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct data entry and follow up on necessary to assist Claims Investigators.

Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards.

Identify more complicated claims and refer them to Claims investigator or Supervisor.

Work claims files to ensure the appropriate eligibility and provider records are matched to the claim.

Updates and maintains claims Workbench database.

Other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience.

Must be 18 years of age OR older.

1+ years of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties.

Experience with computers and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications.

Experience with Microsoft Office Teams, Outlook and Excel.

Ability to multi-task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product.

Ability to work Monday - Friday, during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm CST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on the business need.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of data entry experience.

1+ years of experience working with medical claims.

Experience communicating with customers on the phone / Telephone skills.

Basic understanding of healthcare claims including ICD-10 and CPT codes.

Ability to type 60+ words per minute.

Telecommuting Requirements:

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable).

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Soft Skills:

Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
