The Department of Business and Economics at Augsburg University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach Market Research and International Marketing courses in 2025. This search will establish a “pool” of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2025. Applicants may be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Augsburg's Business Department stresses active, experiential learning and is now housed in our newest building, the Hagfors Center for Science, Business and Religion. Faculty and students work with local businesses and nonprofits on projects both for classes and as internships or field studies. Our location in Minneapolis provides broad ranging opportunities for collaboration with industry partners as well as colleagues at the numerous colleges and universities in the Twin Cities.Available courses vary by term. Most classes are held during the day, 2-3 days per week. In addition to teaching the class and grading student work, instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, reach out to students with course progress information, and communicate regularly with the course coordinator. A course syllabus with calendar, textbook and homework selection, sample activities and exams, and shared office space are typically provided. Most classes are taught in-person on our Minneapolis campus. Each course requires approximately 12-15 hours/week for 15-16 weeks. The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.Compensation & BenefitsSubject to the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284$5,500 to $6,550 per courseEligible for 1-1.5% retirement contribution matchTuition discount for employees and dependentsTransit pass discountNot eligible for healthcare benefits

Course refers to a typical 4-credit undergraduate or 3-credit graduate course that has met minimum enrollment requirements.Please note that due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ adjunct faculty who reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction applies even to courses taught online.
