Job Description:
The Drafting Technician's role is to develop and maintain an organized CAD block library based upon renderings created in the Design Department, with the ability to use and design steel frames, bolt, connection points for the projects that we build.
This person must be experienced in creating 2D CAD drawings, as well as 3D drawings on demand and in a very timely manner.
A general knowledge of basic construction methods and manufacturing is expected.
Key Responsibilities: Day to day Drafting Tech and Technical Document Writing duties will include:
- Build and maintain a library of Plan view and Elevation CAD blocks.
- Create plan view layouts by utilizing pre-designed CAD blocks and creating custom made blocks on-demand.
- Create 3D structural frames using AutoCAD or similar software based on design parameters.
- Verify drawing accuracy of specifications, codes, and other regulations
- Create and maintain library of Product Manufacturing’s drawing job folders.
- Create detailed, unique customer project sales documents maintaining accurate project information.
- Gather existing documents and create PDF project packages for customers on request
- Assist Marketing Dept. in multiple requested tasks and projects.
Requirements:
- Experience (2+ years) with AutoCAD (Adobe Creative Cloud desirable), SolidWorks , Revit, Design/Engineering (3D CAD): Autodesk Inventor, and 3D Max, etc.
- Must be experienced with Microsoft Office including basic Excel
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Minimum education: Associates/Technical Degree preferred or Drafting Certificate
- Must always maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently without becoming distracted or wasting time
- Ability to locate and process data efficiently and with a sense of urgency
- Prefer PC
- Have problem-solving skills, writing skills, and Math skills.
Pay: Dependent on experience, determined based on qualifications
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
