The job requires the following characteristics: a solid understanding of accounting for real estate ventures; ability and to handle desire to lead and develop a team of professional accountants; financial, analytical and problem solving skills; the ability to handle multiple tasks; meet reporting deadlines; and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with levels of personnel within and outside the company. Controller might also ensure that accounting processes used within the company meet state and federal regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein.
. Support the Controller functions so that the financial analyst can generate the monthly financial statements.
. Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.
. Oversee the organization capital purchasing process to ensure purchases made are within the approved budget parameters and according to policy requirements.
.Work with Owner to evaluate financial impact for long term initiatives/program changes to identify funding requirements, potential sources and alternatives.
. Provide assistance in the annual budget process.
. Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.
. Participate in the selection process for an audit firm assist with preparation of the annual audit work.
.Interact with other accounting team members, property managers and all other areas of the company to ensure prompt resolution of issues and achieve maximum efficiency of operations.
. Oversees processing of investment level cash receipts and disbursement.
