Job summary: Ordway Center for the Performing Arts seeks an energetic, detail and customer service orientated accounts payable accountant! The successful candidate will have an interest in musical theater or other art forms, ability to work well in a hybrid work environment, and experience with accounts payable, preferably in a nonprofit culture. Position Purpose: Accounts Payable and General Accountant is responsible for organizing, processing, and monitoring all accounts payable transactions of the Ordway and ensuring these transactions comply with the law and are accurately and timely recorded. This role is also responsible for ensuring that Ordway is utilizing proper processes and procedures for spending transactions and that they comply with policies and a high level of security. This role will also be tasked with providing assistance with bi-weekly payroll transmission.

Key Performance Areas:
Review, process, and mail approved disbursements in an accurate and timely manner.
Oversee Vendor relations as relates to financial matters.
Manage Ordway Amazon business accounts.
Maintain and record transactions made on Ordway business credit cards.
Open mail and make daily deposits.
Facilitate financial Grant reporting.
Facilitate Ordway bank relationships.
Facilitate Ordway insurance relationship.
Support Ordway Audit and Tax reporting and backup other financials activities.
Other Qualifications:
Associate degree, or BA in Accounting or related field, is highly desirable.
Five years of accounts payable and accounting experience required.
Previous nonprofit work highly desirable.
Appreciation and experience in musical theater or other art forms.
Ability to communicate with diverse employee base.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word) as well as accounting software such as Dynamics SL.
High degree of sensitivity for confidentiality.
Ability to compose, write and edit documents with appropriate grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, clarity and creativity.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative/team setting.
Familiarity with accounting principles such as bookkeeping, A/R, A/P, and taxation, IRS, State Tax rules, and other government entities.
Ability to analyze work to ensure accuracy.
Knowledge of payroll processing requirements preferred.
An understanding of the organizational structure, functions, inter-relationship of functions and how each impacts the other; knowledge of reporting relationships.
