Description Robert Half is looking to fill a role based in the Mendota Heights, Minnesota area with a Tax Preparer. As the Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for the preparation of simple and complex, individual and small business State and Federal tax returns. This Tax Preparer is a great opportunity to make an impact in a deadline-driven environment and utilize your meticulous attention to detail. This is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity. Be responsible for other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Manually prepare transaction tax returns utilizing various methods (Paper, E File, EDI Upload) with various government agencies
Tally and invoice for form preparation fees
Touch base with clients to gather relevant information/documents
Support clients with incoming calls to simplify tax questions and set appointments
Produce error free data into Tax software application

Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
Strong familiarity with W2
Well-founded grasp of ATX Tax Software
General familiarity with Tax Projections
Tax Preparation experience
Tax Preparer experience preferred
Form 1099 experience preferred
Customer Support experience highly desired
Proven knowledge of Annual Tax
Practical knowledge of Income Tax Provision
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
