In this newly created Financial Analyst position, the individual will play a pivotal role in setting up processes and systems that enable us to make data-driven financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial planning and analysis within the construction, project management, or related industry, and will be comfortable using advanced data analytics and business intelligence tools. The candidate should be entrepreneurial, adaptable, and have the ability to collaborate effectively with all departments.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct detailed analysis of operational drivers that impact company margin, including sales, contribution margins, operational expenses (OPEX), and delivery metrics (e.g., service tickets, labor hours, project timelines).Provide root cause analysis and present findings and actionable insights to leadership to drive business improvements.Work closely with cross-functional teams across operations, sales, and leadership to ensure financial insights are integrated into business strategies.Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger.Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsReconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy of financial dataDevelop and maintain annual budget and rolling forecast models, ensuring alignment with operational and financial goals. Regularly track and assess project performance and communicate results effectively to key stakeholders, including senior leadership.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures as neededCoordinate and communicate with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit processProvide guidance and mentorship to accounting staffSupport the finance team in ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed
