Rolling Prairie Farm, a family farm near Mountain Lake is looking for a full-time Breeding Lead. This is a great advancement opportunity with someone with at least 2 years of hands-on breeding experience. The breeding lead is responsible for managing and directing the daily operation of the breeding department, including maintaining breeding and farrowing targets, daily artificial insemination (AI) breeding, semen inventory and delivery, herd health and vaccination program, nutrition, isolation and acclimation of replacement gilts, and record keeping. This position involves working in an agricultural environment with continuous hands-on interaction with livestock and regular structured routines.
Basic Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. At least two years of hands-on experience in a breeding department.
3. Must have at least 1 year of related mechanical, production maintenance, or repair experience.
4. Excellent organizational, leadership, production, problem solving and communication skills.
5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
6. Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, push, pull and twist the majority of the day.
Preferred Experience
1. 3+ years of hands-on experience in a breeding department.
2. Previous leadership experience, training and/or other relevant certification(s).
