Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Value Stream Manager has responsibility for managing the manufacturing process to effectively use materials, labor and equipment to meet the business plan for one unit, composed of multiple manufacturing cells. The VSM has responsibility for total production of the unit, to include production requirements, defect levels, waste and work order attainment. This position is responsible for the manufacturing operations of a unit within a manufacturing facility with an operating budget of $50 million.

Assures availability of all resources necessary to operate the unit, including adequate direct labor, technical and maintenance resources, and all other required direct support.

Coordinates with Production Control and the cell associates, schedule sequencing and load leveling in the cells.

Coordinates with Engineering and Quality to eliminate waste and improve process capability.

Champions health and safety, environment, and 5S programs

Uses Lean Sigma tools to troubleshoot recurring issues and eliminate root cause process failures.

Performs other related duties as required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Results driven with a demonstrated ability working in a high performance manufacturing environment.

Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement.

Excellent analytical abilities.

Solid planning, organization and administrative skills.

Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing

Qualifications:

Engineering Degree or equivalent desired

Greenbelt certification desired.

3-5 Years manufacturing management experience, preferably in a team-based environment.

Project management experience.

Union plant experience preferred.

Manufacturing shop floor & Office environment
