The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming, and volunteer services.The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Forensic Evaluator. The Forensic Evaluator will provide comprehensive risk assessments, research, and forensic consultation in the specialized field of civilly committed sexual offenders to the Minnesota Sex Offender Program. The Forensic Evaluator specializes in risk assessment of individuals with a history of sexually abusive behaviors.As an independent, highly competent, specialized psychologist in sex offender specific forensic assessments responsibilities include:

Selects and administers assessments, conducts clinical interviews and/or mental status examinations, and completes evaluations

Consults and provides testimony to the Minnesota Commitment Appeal Panel and at Special Review Board hearings

Provides specialized and technical consultation to the courts, attorneys, and other professionals

Provides sophisticated problem-solving skills when providing consultations, as well as offering educational experiences to unlicensed psychologists to enhance department’s overall clinical skills

Provides mentoring, clinical supervision, and training to unlicensed psychologists

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Forensic Psychology

Licensure as a Psychologist (LP) by the Minnesota Board of Psychology or MN license eligible in other states

One-year post-licensed experience in a forensic and/or correctional setting

Preferred Qualifications

Competency in administration and interpretation of instruments utilized in forensic evaluations.

Competence and experience in testifying and completing court-ordered evaluations as well as knowledge of mental health case law is highly preferred.
