Job Title: Underground/Utility EstimatorJob DescriptionThe Underground/Utility Estimator is responsible for supporting project managers and leadership with underground/utilities projects by estimating labor and material costs and communicating financial costs and project timelines to the operations teams. The role involves gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and documents related to projects, obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors, and identifying and negotiating with qualified subcontractors.Responsibilities

Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.

Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, and production times.

Understand customer requirements and specifications to accurately estimate a project.

Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

Prepare reports, quotes, and estimates detailing the cost of a project in proprietary systems or Bid2Win.

Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss cost estimates and resolve cost-related issues.

Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts.

Conduct risk analysis activities.

Build and maintain relationships with key customers and vendors.

Essential Skills

5+ years of recent estimating experience on energy, underground utility, earthwork, or commercial construction projects.

Proficiency in estimating construction projects.

Experience with Bid2Win software is a plus.

Knowledge of underground utilities, fiber, utility, electric, and gas projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to support 15-20 project managers in the Midwest region.

Travel requirement: 25%, with approximately one trip per month, receiving $50/day per diem and mileage for travel.

Work EnvironmentThis position is onsite in Maple Lake, MN, with the possibility of a light hybrid schedule once trained. The role involves reporting to the VP of Communications.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $61.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
