Join the talented, engaged and inclusive workforce dedicated to creating a better Minnesota.The purpose of this position is to provide professional planning assistance to support the District in the coordination and development of various highway, transit, freight, bike and pedestrian transportation system plans and studies; to participate in and support statewide, district, regional and local planning initiatives for the development of a safe and sound multimodal transportation system; to assist in the identification, scoping, implementation and monitoring of transportation investments in the District segment of MnDOT’s 20-year Minnesota State Highway Investment Plan and 10-year Capital Highway Investment Plan and Area Transportation Partnership-District 7’s 4-year Area Transportation Investment Program; and to ensure integration and consistency with MnDOT’s statewide and District investment goals and direction with consideration to stakeholder and public input and feedback.Minimum Qualifications· Two (2) years of advanced professional level transportation planning with working knowledge of the theory and practice of comprehensive regional and community planning, with the focus on transportation, land use, and stakeholder collaboration.Please note: A bachelor's or master's degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for six (6) months of advanced professional experience.Preferred Qualifications· Degree in Transportation Planning, Planning, Urban Studies or closely related field.Physical RequirementsAn individual with a disability may be qualified to perform the function if an accommodation would enable this person to perform the job in a different way, and the accommodation does not impose an undue hardship.Additional RequirementsThis position requires successful completion of the following:Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check.
